Our Story

Founded in 2023 by Detroit-based creative Briaca Duesette, Animation Discovery Studio (ADS) is a mission-driven organization on a bold mission: to empower the next generation of visual storytellers from beneath represented communities.

Born from Briaca’s own journey as a student, creator, and alum of the Apple Developer Academy, ADS bridges the gap between imagination and industry—using accessible technology like iPads and beginner-friendly software to teach the foundations of animation, storytelling, and design thinking.

In just one year, we've served over 1,000 students and partnered with schools, nonprofit organizations, and corporate programs to bring high-quality creative education directly to the communities that need it most.

Trionn McKee Lead Animation Instructor

A lifelong artist and educator, Trionn specializes in teaching storytelling through a lens that’s culturally relevant and empowering. He’s known for turning first-time animators into confident creators through encouragement and fun.

Ella McKale Animation Instructor

With a BFA in Animation and a mixed-media storytelling background, Ella inspires students to blend traditional techniques with new technology. She’s especially passionate about helping kids unlock their creative voices.

Briaca Duesette Founder & Creative Director

A proud Detroiter, Apple Developer Academy graduate, and UI/UX designer, Briaca brings a unique blend of technical expertise and lived experience to her role. Her passion lies in helping young creators see their ideas as valuable—and equipping them with the tools to share them with the world.
